|1926|| U.S. Army Air Corps Established. |
|1928|| Britain passes an act of parliament extended the franchise to women on the same terms as men. |
|1932|| President Roosevelt (D) announces a "New Deal" for the American people. |
|1964|| Civil Rights Act of 1964 signed by President Johnson (D). It is the first law that forbids discrimination based on race in private employment. |
|1967|| Congress passes Selective Service Act reform: ends grad student deferments and puts them in a pool to be drafted in June 68. |
|1976|| In "Gregg v. Georgia", the Supreme Court rules that Capital Punishment does not constitute "cruel and unusual punishment". Strangely, in 1972 they ruled that the death penalty was unconstitutional. Go figure. |
|1980|| In "Fullilove v. Klutznick", the Supreme Court rules that the use of quotas in government contract awards based on past racial inequities is acceptable. |
