Sorry this section is still very much in work!
I enjoy the original Country Music, BlueGrass, some Classical and Blues. But so what? Obviously, I would like to promote what I would like to hear (since I am a certified Selfish Person). It is quite annoying that I can find little good music on my radio.
So, here is a list of music and musicians that I like with pointers to more info if I know about it.
- BlueGrass
A great mail list interest group is the BGRASS-L. This group is worth reading whether you like Bluegrass or not since it such a nice group -- an oddity on the internet!. To subscribe send email to LISTSERV@LSV.UKY.EDU and include one line in the body of the message like so:SUB BGRASS-L 'Your full name'
An audio sample and other info on Doc Watson (who is into Bluegrass and much more) is available here. By the way, Doc Watson is located at the site promoting Southern Culture which has a neat audio sample of 'Dueling Banjos'. Check it out.
On the web is a excellent page called, 'Cybergrass - The Internet Bluegrass Music Magazine', which provides a rather complete list of all the BlueGrass info on the Internet.
- Bela Fleck
An incredibly talented musician who's specialty is the banjo. There is a newsgroup devoted to Bela: alt.music.bela-fleck. More information can be obtained from Nathan Torkington's entertaining page on Bela and banjos.
